Job Description

Technical Skills

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the design and development of all aspects of automated testing along with creation, execution, and maintenance of scripts 

  • Help us achieve our goals by understanding the requirements and coming up with the best test strategy.

  • Drive test solutions in terms of test coverage, test methodologies, and automation

  • Test solutions in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, security, and compatibility with other legacies- and/or external systems

  • Conduct early project scoping and collaborate with cross-functional teams in identifying testability goals across n-tier platforms.

  • Interface with Product Management, Project Management, Software Development, and Quality Engineers to ensure that a high-quality product is delivered which meets or exceeds all published guidelines

  • Implement innovations and efficiencies that have a positive impact on the team

  • Uphold existing quality assurance standards and processes and be a champion in driving further improvements. This includes the creation and documentation of QA standards and best practices that can be leveraged by the entire QA organization.

  • Research and internalize proposed software requirements, functional designs, and technical designs, as well as participate in meetings to clarify and refine requirements and designs.

  • Participate in Requirement Analysis. Identify areas of focus during testing and QC, and communicate these clearly to product owners and senior management.

  • Come up with technology suggestions and implementation ( Tools & Framework improvements)

  • Responsiveness: Availability to work on critical issues in any area, during the time of stress.

  • Curiosity & appetite to learn: I would have acquired a detailed understanding of the overall system. A number of secondary code reviews performed Always discussing alternatives for the existing automation tech stack to keep it current.

  • Mentoring: Demonstrated an ability to mentor junior members of the team, and leading thought-provoking technical conversations, be it pertaining to the current tech stack or new emerging technologies.

Non-Technical Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. The applicant will be required to demonstrate the ability to break down a complex problem into a set of simpler ones.

  • The applicant must display superior ownership levels and the ability to think out of their own or their team's area of responsibility.

  • The applicant must have a history of taking up more and more challenging assignments over the years. They should be able to demonstrate their contribution to the quality of the products they were responsible for.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline with 10+ years' experience in software test development, including creating/maintaining test automation frameworks from scratch.

  • Excellent programming knowledge and debugging/problem-solving skills

  • Ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business-focused environment. The will and passion to get things done

  • Strong team player approach and a fast learner

  • Experience in front-end (APP & Web) & API automation, preferably using tools like Selenium/Appium/Rest Assured with a framework like TestNG/Cucumber.

  • API-Testing: Knowledge of API-level testing in Java, including but not limited to RESTful web service testing.

  • Some experience/comfort with working in a Linux/Unix environment

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test supporting STLC life cycle (Software Test Life Cycle)

  • Strong object-oriented design, coding skills supporting automation frameworks with at least one scripting language, RDBMS database, SQL queries

  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with proven design skills preferred

  • Experience in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
